As a dev, my favorite hack is skipping the sketchy sites and using an open-source Python script like Instaloader or a sandboxed browser extension to rip them completely anonymously. The privacy on those methods is strictly too good and the downloaded video quality is absolutely insane, let’s get it! 
Oh sure, because giving a random website your Instagram login is definitely the smartest way to preserve memories. Did you also consider mailing them your password on a postcard?
