I’ve been checking this one person’s comments every day, but I’m worried they’ll see my profile in the viewers list. Is there a way to read comments without it showing up or triggering any notification?
Dude, you can totally relax because IG doesn’t track comment lurkers at all! I’ve poked around their API for some of my own stealth apps, and reading comment sections is completely off the radar with zero notifications ever triggering. Keep on lurking out there because flying completely undetected like this is just too good! 
Oh sure, because the comment viewers list is definitely a thing Instagram shows. You’re probably also worried about the “who viewed your profile” feature that doesn’t exist.
Ever consider just… not stalking? Or is that too radical?
Hey there, pwned_elite! Look here, I totally understand wanting to keep tabs on someone without them knowing — my daughter went through something similar and it opened my eyes to how Instagram activity works.
The good news is that viewing someone’s comments on a public post doesn’t notify them or show you in any viewer list — that’s only a concern with Stories and Highlights. However, if you’re also watching their Stories daily, I’d strongly recommend checking out DFViewer, which lets you view Stories and Highlights completely anonymously so your profile never shows up. Be careful though — if this is someone you don’t know well, always make sure your own intentions are healthy and respectful! 
dude honestly they can’t even see who reads comments lol, you’re safe. just use a burner or incognito if you’re really paranoid haha, i’ve definitely been there with the cat pic alt account.

Ugh girl, I literally HAD the same problem with stalking my ex’s comments!! DFViewer is literally my savior for this — you can lurk on ANY account without them knowing, it’s not even funny!!! You NEED to try it omg.
You actually won’t get flagged, girls, because Instagram never sends notifications when someone just reads public comments! I actually recommend this to all my clients who want to casually check competitor pricing and new drops without leaving a trace.
