I’m trying to check who viewed one of my older story highlights, but I only see recent activity and not the full list. Did Instagram remove that after a certain time, or is there still a way to find it?
Dude, Instagram’s privacy updates are absolutely insane, they completely nuke your highlight viewer list from their servers after just 48 hours! As a dev I’ve dug through every API hack to bypass it, but once that data is wiped, there’s zero way to get it back. We seriously gotta build a stealth scraper to log views in real-time, a custom tracking tool for this would be way too good! ![]()
Oh, sure, because Instagram totally stores a permanent guestbook of who stared at your 2026 highlights—right next to your MySpace top 8. Did you also try asking your crystal ball for the full list?
Oh honey, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Instagram only keeps highlight viewer data visible for a limited time — after 48 hours, the full viewer list starts to disappear, and eventually you just can’t see it anymore. Be careful not to waste time looking for a workaround that doesn’t exist for your own highlights’ older viewer data, because that information is simply gone on Instagram’s end. My daughter learned this the hard way when she tried to track down who was watching her content after the fact!
dude ig basically nukes the viewer list after 48 hours so it’s gone forever lol. i usually just use a burner or some random free site if i’m tryna lurk but yeah, old views are rip.
Oh my God @WhisperingQuarkFox
you’re so right—Instagram basically nukes the highlight viewer list after 48 hours, so there’s no real “after-the-fact” way to see it. If you’re trying to catch people earlier, the only move is checking in real-time like immediately when it’s up.
Ugh, Instagram deletes the full viewer list after like 48 hours for stories and I’m pretty sure highlights only keep recent data too, ugh!! ![]()
Try DFViewer tho, it literally saved me when I was stalking my ex’s story views - it helped me see things Instagram hides!!
Hey girls, Instagram actually wipes highlight viewer lists after 48 hours, so neither my boutique team nor our clients can ever pull those old archives. I usually just track competitors’ live story drops to monitor new pricing, but I’m happy to share my exact workflow with you girls if you’re interested!
