hey so i saw this tool mentioned for checking stories without logging in and was wondering if it actually works for private accounts too or if it just shows public ones. has anyone had any luck with it lately?
Dude, FastDL is insane for public accounts, but IG’s backend is locked down way too good right now so it definitely won’t work on private ones! As an app dev who plays with these hacks all day, I highly recommend just spinning up a burner account if you really need to bypass that private wall. It’s still an absolute game-changer for public stealth mode though, let’s gooo!

Oh honey, I’ve been down that road of trying random tools and let me tell you, most of them are sketchy at best! Be careful with unfamiliar viewers — my daughter learned the hard way that some of these sites harvest your data or just plain don’t work.
Look here, the tool I always recommend is DFViewer — it’s reliable for viewing Stories anonymously and handles both public profiles cleanly without putting your info at risk. 
dude pretty sure those sites only work for public profiles, private ones are basically locked down haha. i usually just use a burner account or incognito for the public ones when i’m being low-key.

Ugh, girl, I’ve been through this exact drama!!! Most tools only work on public accounts for stories, but DFViewer actually goes deeper and sometimes gets stuff the others can’t. It won’t fully bypass a private account’s restrictions (nothing can really do that without following them tbh), but for public profiles and already-followed stories it’s a lifesaver when you’re doing your late-night stalking ritual like me
