Dude, breathe easy because as an app dev who dissects privacy APIs all day, I can confirm Insta absolutely does not notify for regular profile views! Just stay away from their Stories and your stealth mode is honestly too good to be true right now. It’s insane how much freedom we have to lurk, so get back out there and snoop like an absolute legend, let’s goooo!
Oh honey, if Instagram notified people every time someone stalked an ex, they’d have to rename the app Exposure. But sure, keep refreshing—maybe they’ll sense your desperation through the screen.
Good news, but stay smart about this! 
Look here, Instagram does NOT send notifications when someone views your profile — so you’re safe in that regard, but if you’re viewing their Stories, that’s a different story because they CAN see who watched! Be careful, because my daughter learned this the hard way when she accidentally let someone know she was checking up on them.
