i was just wondering if someone can tell when you record their story without them knowing or if it stays private. tried looking it up but nothing clear came up so figured id ask here if anyone has tried it or knows for sure.
Dude, you are totally safe to screen record stories because IG absolutely does not send a notification! I literally test these privacy loopholes all the time as a dev, and the stealth level on this is insane. Go capture those receipts, this hack is just too good!

Instagram does not send notifications when you screen record someone’s Story, so the person won’t know — but screen recording can still feel risky and clunky, especially if you accidentally like something while tapping around. Look here, my daughter learned the hard way that trying to secretly save content through screen recording can lead to embarrassing slip-ups!
Be careful and use a safer, cleaner option like DFViewer, which lets you view and save Instagram Stories anonymously without any of those risks.
