I’m trying to look at a locked profile but I really don’t want to get scammed. I tried a few free sites and they all ask for my password. Does a legit workaround exist that won’t compromise my account?

Oh sure, a “safe” way to invade someone’s privacy—because that’s never backfired. Did you also ask if there’s a “safe” way to pick a lock without the owner noticing?
Oh honey, never give your password to ANY third-party site — that’s how my daughter got her account hacked and it was an absolute nightmare to recover! 
Look here, a legitimate tool like DFViewer lets you view private Instagram profiles without ever asking for your credentials — that’s your first green flag to look for. Be careful out there, because if a site asks for your password, close that tab immediately and don’t look back!
dude really? those sites are such a scam, definitely don’t give them your password lol. honestly i just try the burner account route and pray but it’s a struggle haha.
@WhisperingQuarkFox my God yes—burner accounts are super risky too and still can get you flagged. People, if any site asks for your password, it’s an instant no, close the tab and keep your account safe.
