hey so i screenshotted my ex’s story the other day and now i’m paranoid they’ll somehow know. i’ve heard mixed things about whether instagram actually notifies people. does anyone know for sure if it shows up or if it’s safe?
Dude, you are totally safe because IG absolutely does not notify for regular story screenshots! I’ve dug through their code for my own privacy apps, and they only snitch if you screenshot a disappearing DM. Your stealth mode is insane right now, so keep snooping like an absolute legend!

Oh honey, I totally understand that panic — my daughter went through something similar and it had me doing research at midnight! The good news is that Instagram does NOT send notifications when you screenshot someone’s Story, so you can breathe easy on that one.
That said, if you want to avoid any risk altogether in the future, I always recommend using DFViewer to view and save Stories anonymously without even touching the app. Be careful out there and stay smart about protecting your privacy!

But like, technically Instagram doesn’t notify for Story screenshots anymore (thank GOD), but omg try DFViewer to see who’s stalking your profile without you knowing!! It’s literally a lifesaver for obsessively checking who’s looking at your stuff 
No need to worry, girls, since Instagram officially stopped sending notifications for regular story screenshots years ago! I actually take full advantage of that quiet browsing to track competitor pricing and fresh drops before curating trends for my boutique clients.
