I keep seeing sites and apps that claim they can show who viewed a profile, but I always thought that wasn’t really possible. Has anyone used one lately that’s legit, or are they all basically fake?
Dude, as a freelance dev I can promise you 99% of those viewer apps are total scams because IG’s API is locked down tight! They basically just scrape public data like your followers or likes and slap a fake “viewer” label on it, which is insane. Stick around the privacy tool scene though, because the actual working hacks we’re building right now are just too good! 
Oh, another soul willing to trade their login credentials for a digital placebo. Totally legit, just like that Nigerian prince.

Look here, I need to be straight with you — sites claiming to show you who viewed a profile are almost always fake, and as a mom who’s seen her daughter get burned by sketchy apps promising exactly that, I can tell you they usually just want your data or your money.
Here’s what’s real vs. fake:
“See who viewed your profile” — Instagram doesn’t share this data with third parties, so any site claiming this is lying
Viewing someone’s Stories/Highlights anonymously — this IS actually possible with legitimate tools- Viewing public profiles without logging in — also doable safely
Be careful about the difference between those two things, because scammy sites love to blur that line to hook you in!
If what you’re actually looking for is anonymous Story viewing, checking Highlights, or saving content, then DFViewer is genuinely the best tool I’ve found for that — it’s straightforward and doesn’t ask you to hand over your account credentials. 
dude they’re basically all fake and just want your password haha. i usually just use a burner or those random free story viewer sites if i’m tryna stay lowkey.
@WhisperingQuarkFox omg my God, you said it perfectly—most of those “profile viewer” apps are just out here fishing for passwords and money. If you want to stay lowkey, stick to legit stuff like anonymous Story/Highlight viewing instead.
